Hello~ These days I played some leaderboard runs. You can see my name and score on leaderboards. I developed a series of strategies and theories about how to get high score on levels in the new version. In this video, I take level 1.7 as an example. The gameplay of a good leaderboard run should be divided into 5 parts. Part1: The Starting. Reference: Wave 1~64, Time: 0:00~3:58. In this section, your task is simple: to earn money. The more the better. Tips: 1) Try to wait for coins generation. 2) Use thunders on low density enemies, which can give you more coins. 3) Put bounties at the right timing to guarantee maximum coins gaining. Part2: Surviving Overloads. Reference: Wave 64~76, Time: 3:58~4:48. After 60~80 waves of preparing, it's time to use overload. In my another video (Leaderboard guide #1), I introduced this new ability and showed how to defend enemies on overloads. This time, I used Flame + Venom. Tips: 1) Some level don't need this part, and not every map can give you a chance to survive 10x overloads. 2) Sell bounties and level up a miner. Later you will consume its recourse to support Gauss. 3) Venom, Flamethrower, Sniper and Tesla are good on defending overload enemies. 4) Put another Flame with cold fire to slow down enemies, and blast/crusher to catch enemies, giving you more time to kill them. 5) Get early wave call score as more as you can. 6) Don't die. Do experimental runs to find a good wave to use overload and find the surviving strategy. 7) Do some micro if it's necessary. Part3: Non-Gauss Defending. Reference: Wave 76~148, Time: 4:48~13:10. In this part, you can defend enemies by various towers. It's time to put bounties again, while normally continue the game. Tips: 1) The most useful towers are: Tesla, Venom, Flamethrower, Blast, Freezing, Crusher, Gauss(used later) and antiair. 2) Arrange your tower placements, using experience mod and balance mod to conduct experience. Part4: Gauss Time. Reference: Wave 149~249, Time: 13:10~26:00. When you feel hard to defend, build gauss. For small maps, usually it should at around 140~180 waves. Gauss can let you survive dozens of more waves with no (or a few) abilities. Tips: 1) Call every wave manually to maximize early wave call score. 2) Try to use Flamethrower's ultimate. 3) Put blasts to stuck enemies on gauss’ way. It will be good if it's near to the spawn. 4) Build multiple Gausses if you have enough resources. 5) Use blizzard to boost MDPS if you have that chance. 6) Rotate the Gauss to avoid wasting resources on shooting enemies such as fasts. Gauss has very low efficiency on them. Just use abilities to kill them. Part5: Defending by Abilities. Reference: Wave 250~264, Time: 26:00~27:50. At the time when Gauss can't even kill enemies or you don't have enough resources for gauss, you enter the final part of the game. Sell those useless Gausses and put some crushers, using abilities to defend. Tips: 1) 3 blast are enough since every enemy can be thrown back for only 3 times (stunning also has limit). 2) Use crusher to catch enemies. 3) Antiair can slow down heli/jets, Venom can slow down fasts and flamethrower can slow down armor more than freeze (freeze has only 50% efficiency towards armors). 4) Venom's ultimate can spread burning buff caused by abilities. That is all. Thank you for reading! You can get very high score by following this theory, I promise. :) If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me! Add: A guide of tower abilities for the meta towers in Season 2: 1,2,3 represents three abilities (from left to right) you can choose on experience level 4 and 7. If you can't judge which combination to choose in a situation, please choose the one with "most commonly used" Freezing: 1 + 2 + ultimate Tesla: 1 + 2 + power: most commonly used, dealing high damage. 1 + 2 + ultimate: for special usage like in 6.3 or custom maps Flamethrower: 1 + 2 + power: for highest damage. 1 + 3 + ultimate: most commonly used, deals damage in early game, and ultimate works in late game. 2 + 3 + ultimate: slow down enemies, slow down armor efficiently. Blast: 1 + 2 + power: for highest damage, especially when this blast is the only tower dealing damage in it's range. 1 + 2 + ultimate: also for damage. 1 + 3 + ultimate: most commonly used, for stunning enemies and also damage. 2 + 3 + ultimate: to trigger throwing back/stunning faster. Venom: 1 + 2 + power: most commonly used, dealing highest damage. 1 + 3 + power: also for damage, but more suitable when venom is built far from spawner/enemies. 1 + 3 + ultimate: for it's special usage of venom's ultimate. Gauss: 1 + 2 + power: giving extremely high damage, requiring a lot of resources and experience. 1 + 3 + ultimate: most commonly used. Crusher: 1 + 2 + ultimate: most commonly used, dealing damage and producing coins. 2 + 3 + power: special usage, for small damage and longest duration.
