The shooter, who has now been identified as Vester Lee Flanagan, known professionally as Bryce Williams, was a “disgruntled employee.” Television reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were conducting an interview with a woman at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta at approximately 6:45 a.m. when Williams opened fire. Ward and Parker were found dead at the scene, while the interviewee, who was shot in the back, is in stable condition following emergency surgery. After the shooting police closely pursued Williams, who posted up videos of the shooting to his Facebook and Twitter accounts while on the run. His accounts have since been suspended. Williams reportedly shot himself in the head during the police pursuit. He was pronounced dead at at an area hospital at 1:26pm local time.
