This is the story of two children, from Dukes’ families that are friends with each other, who declare they will be married one day. Something happens to the Dukes’ friendship, and they declare that the now grown children cannot marry. Eventually, they do, but not before broken hearts! The writing is clear and descriptive! The story is captivating! I was almost angry at the Dukes and their pettiness. Good story! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Isla told Oscar they would marry when she was 8 and he was 10. That had always been in the plan until her father finds a letter that his father wrote to her mother when she was alive. Then Oscar was sent away and eventually married someone else. Isla took care of her sisters and helped them to find love but she had her love and would find no other. What will happen to them now? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved this book and the characters. I did not care for both sets of fathers though, even though they added to the book. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this is my honest review. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Truly amazing. The two families an there love and friendship for one another start the story. With a belief in yourself plus following through with your heart. Its a very good read. I encourage everyone to read this book. The ending will surprise you plus conform you to believe in good ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I dearly loved Isla and Oscar. Their persistent love for each other was such a heartfelt journey. I was sad they were separated for so long. But the way every character grew was so good. Thank you Ms Byrd for writing.
