Using the Hive-Five Multi-Guard, the beekeeper can protect their bees from all of the seasonal threats, without ever having to lift the brood box, battle with an entrance block, or disturb the bees. 4 interchangeable screens provide protection throughout the beekeeping year. 1. Wasp guard screen - allows drones in and out to prevent them building up behind the defensible hole, but it's also ventilated all the way along so treatments can be put on without having to open the entrance and risk wasp attacks. Simply swap the screen around to change the entrance location. 2. Reduced entrance screen - for Spring and Autumn but with added ventilation for damper and warmer climates. 3. Fully closed screen - but totally ventilated for painting, moving, keeping them in on crop spray day. 4. Mouse guard screen - designed so that the bees can get through without knocking the pollen off their legs. Too small for a mouse to get her head in to chew through. Entrances are all the way along to try and encourage the bees to enter at different ends, and therefore reduce isolation starvation. Supplied with a storage hook - this sits directly below the entrance, forming a seal between screen and storage; no determined wasp or mouse can force their way under. The spare screens rest together and form a useful landing board.
