History of Odsal Stadium Photo Album: https://www.flickr.com/groups/1551265... David Pickup Drone Videos of Odsal Stadium: https://www.pexels.com/@davidpickup/ Derbyshire Bangers: / @derbyshirebangers YorStox: / @yorstox #WallopStraightIn: / @wallopstraightin How do you describe a stadium that can host rugby league and stock car racing in the same week? A venue that has hosted 100,000 crowds and far, far less. A place that has seen champions from speedway to Super League to tennis and even welcomed the Harlem Globetrotters once upon a time. It has not always been easy for Odsal Stadium in Bradford, England. There have been highs and lows for over 90 years. There have been lots of ambitious redevelopment plans that have failed. There is no denying it looks a bit rough in 2025. Yet that adds to its charm. Who has time for prim and proper when Yorstox banger racing is followed by a Bradford Bulls game. How do you describe Odsal Stadium…it’s interesting, in fact, it just may be the most interesting stadium in the world. There has been no shortage of plans to redevelop Odsal Stadium over the years. A few, such as redoing the main stand in the 1980s went ahead. Others, such as the Super Bowl design, totally different from the Superdome, not so much. A few years back, the Bulls tried to move forward with a 20,000+ seat covered venue, but the project never made any progress and has since been put on ice. Let’s be honest. Odsal Stadium has lived a long, full life and is nearing the end, at least in its current form. It’s sad but also understandable. All good things come to an end. And realistically, no one probably thought this would be around as long as it has. This is one of the last combination race/sport stadiums in the United Kingdom. But it’s worth reading either way.
