I wanted to make a not-too-sweet dessert for Valentine’s Day, so I chose a chiffon cake. It’s absolutely delicious served with whipped cream on top! Ingredients 3 egg yolks 30 g granulated sugar 30 g vegetable oil 60 g hot water 3 egg whites 60 g granulated sugar 90 g cake flour 1½ tbsp cocoa powder (15 g) ¼ tsp baking powder (1 g) Lightly grease a chiffon cake pan with vegetable oil. In a bowl, mix the egg yolks and granulated sugar until well combined. In a separate bowl, mix the hot water and vegetable oil, then add this mixture to the egg yolk mixture and stir well. Sift the cake flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder together, then add to the batter and mix until smooth. In another clean bowl, beat the egg whites with a hand mixer until foamy. When soft peaks form, add all the granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the meringue into the egg yolk batter using a rubber spatula, being careful not to deflate it. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (355°F) for 40 minutes. #asmr #homemade #japanesefood #asmr #calm #chocolate #valentine
