Breaking markets force Trump's hand | The Trade Off

In the last few days, we have seen markets trying to build a base, certainly in risk assets. But certainly in things like sofa spreads and what we've been seeing in the long end of the treasury curve, they say that breaking markets eventually break and that's where we've been seeing things really move alive. Donald Trump had to act and he has acted fairly emphatically and he's called as one of the biggest moves we've ever seen in equity markets. We've seen implied levels of volatility absolutely cratering. Certainly the VIX has had its biggest one-day decline we've ever seen. We've seen big moves in effects markets, commodity markets have come alive. But the question is, is are we out of the woods? Was this a necessary situation that had to be enacted before we saw some sort of systemic, maybe SVB type situation come to the floor? The markets are questioning where we go from here. Risk assets have rejoiced, but can it sustain?
