There are two types of lens - Hydrophobic and Hydrophilic. Mostly Hydrophobic lens are recommended. There are three types of Hydrophobic lens - monofocal, multifocal and Tri focal lens. In monofocal lens you won’t need to wear glasses for farsightedness but there will still be need of glasses for nearsightedness. In Multifocal and Trifocal lens both far and near sight gets treated. For elderly ladies who don’t have work related to studying they can get monofocal lens. The doctors decides lens according to the need of individual patient. If a young person who is in the age between 40-50 is suffering from Cataract then they will get a multi or Tri focal lens.
