(g!BCR #3) Music: Olive – Jake Chudnow Technical notes: • Values are IPS before 1962 and FLOPS from 1962 on. • From June 1993 on, the top ten computers are listed, but before 1993 only record-breaking computers are listed (the chart begins as a record progression then becomes a top ten ranking). • If a computer drops in performance speed or is decommissioned, it still remains on the board with its record high speed. • Multiple units of the same model are not listed, only the fastest is. When performance speed is a tie between units, the one ranking higher on TOP500 is shown. • Computers are listed under the country they physically exist in. • Some names listed are technical descriptions while some are nicknames. A general shift toward nicknames occurs in the early 2000s and by the mid 2000s almost all names listed are nicknames / titles.
