Elisabetta has a knack for color: From pastel-colored walls to stylishly painted furniture, every detail in the old forester's lodge is characterized by her love of color. She has created a retreat for herself in Kirburg, Westerwald, that not only reflects her creative work as a hairdresser, but also her deep conviction that colors enrich life. Her great credo is that subtle colors, preferably pastel, create more happiness, harmony, and a good mood in the home and are good for the soul. Chalk paints are particularly close to her heart. She loves the matte finish and the elegance of the color scheme. Elisabetta paints almost everything with them. She even paints a simple Egyptian leather cushion in camel brown, transforming it into a colorful eye-catcher. Her colorful hustle and bustle doesn't stop at the kitchen either. Here, Elisabetta painted the grout between the tiles a bright orange – an unexpected color accent and eye-catcher. Pillows, blankets, and curtains are absolute must-haves for Elisabetta. They give the room atmosphere and coziness, which is why she can never have enough of them. Things can be beautiful. Things like a trash can, in particular, look much nicer when painted in attractive colors, says the 38-year-old. Elisabetta has expert help in implementing her color ideas: Her partner is a trained master painter and decorator. In their shared house, he can apply his expertise and realize Elisabetta's wishes. The colorful wallpaper and tiles blend harmoniously and bring color to the old forester's lodge. Elisabetta's goal is not perfection, but colorful coziness, which is emphasized by warmly glowing lamps. She finds her unusual furniture and decorations through regular visits to flea markets and online. When it comes to larger items, she enlists friends to help her transport them. This is the case with the piano, which she bought on a whim and which, due to its weight, was a real challenge to get into the living room. Because the color didn't match, she simply painted it white. The only piece of furniture she bought from a store is her couch in the living room – and she even pimped that up. The legs were metal – Elisabetta hates metal – so she replaced them with white wooden legs. Color isn't just an aesthetic element, but a way of life that Elisabetta celebrates every day. And when her tastes change, she simply adapts her living spaces and repaints her furniture and walls.
