You have to pass all of the topics in each assessment of SQE1 in order to proceed to SQE2. If you fail one topic, you will have a maximum of three attempts within six years to pass it (before you will have all your previous passes disregarded and you have to start again). The pass mark for all of the assessments is estimated by the SRA to be somewhere between 50% and 60%, although this will depend on the specific assessment.
