Today we set off on an unforgettable Father & Son cycling adventure, leading a 37-mile group ride from Doncaster to Elsecar Heritage Centre through the beautiful South Yorkshire countryside. 🚴♂️ There’s something special about sharing the road, the miles, and the effort with your own son — and this ride was about much more than just distance. It was about discipline, resilience, teamwork, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Starting out in Doncaster, our group rolled through some of Yorkshire’s scenic routes, steady pacing, good conversation, and plenty of climbs to test the legs. The energy of a group ride always brings something different — the encouragement, the shared pushes on the hills, and that strong sense of community that makes cycling so powerful. Elsecar Heritage Centre was the perfect destination. A historic South Yorkshire landmark, it gave us a great halfway milestone to aim for before turning those pedals back home. 37 miles may not be a race distance, but when you’re riding as a team — especially as father and son — every mile counts. This ride represents what cycling is really about: • Family bonding • Healthy lifestyle choices • Leading by example • Building physical and mental strength • Exploring local history and countryside If you’re a parent thinking about getting your kids into cycling, do it. The conversations you have side by side on a bike are different. The lessons they learn from endurance, consistency, and effort stay with them far beyond the ride itself. Thank you to everyone who joined the group ride — the support, positivity, and strong riding made it a day to remember.
