I finally surfed the Firewire Machado Groove in proper overhead, powerful waves – the biggest conditions I’ve tested this board in. I rode it with the Machado quad fin setup, and while the board held in surprisingly well, I didn’t love how it felt as a quad. It had moments of unpredictability, especially during hard turns. Next time, I want to try it as a thruster or 2+1 for more control and drive in heavier conditions. Still, it was super fun, fast, and a great session overall.
