A short video of Steve Barnetts first flight in the mountains. I had never met Steve until I put the shout out for a driver, back in April.. He answered the call. Steve didn't know me, and I didn't know him and the trip started in six weeks. So we all met up at my house in the UK for a Thai, and quite quickly I could see he was keen to learn. He said he would happily help us out with retrieves, and driving from site to site.. A couple of weeks later Phil Clark and Steve went away flying in Wales, and I asked Phil to check his flying out, to see if he could join us in the flying? It was apparent after speaking to Phil that Steve was a capable pilot, and could possibly join us on the trans alps tour, if I could find another driver? Kevin Tull my cousin stepped in to help.. There was some work to do with Steve, as he had never flown in the mountains before. When he arrived in Austria, I was only going to have 5 days with him before the guys came out, and the tour began. And 2 of the days were going to be rained out! He arrived at my house in Austria at 10.30pm. He was given a beer, and I opened the Alps valley wind map and it began, that night! There was no time to waste, he was flying the next day. The learning curve was vertical.. I threw him in the deep end, but he was swimming straight away. There were so many things that had to happen in the Universe for Steve, a guy that I had never met, coming out to my house and joining Phil and I flying through the alps. Everything happens for a reason, It was meant to be.. What a team we had.. It was my best paragliding trip to date 100% #paragliding
