I made the most progress when I accepted that there was no finish line I would ever reach, it was an ongoing transformation that would encompass a lifetime. Healing looks different for everyone, but this is what it looks like for me, and parenthood has really helped in my personal case. Being a mother has deeply changed me and helped me become more of who I have wanted to be, and to reap the rewards of that peace.
