Investigating the retail sale of cannabis legally in Ontario, Canada filmed in June 2023 for the purpose of educating members of the Citizen's Assembly. Information contained in this submission relates to legal access to cannabis. Restrictions are enforced: 1200mg THC limit on sales 19+ to enter Packaging safety & information sealed on all products Research: University of Waterloo study found no increase in problematic use post legalisation, however socio-economic factors did play a role for those living in deprived neighbourhoods. No increase in adolescent use 3-year post-legalisation is associated with a reduction in police reported cannabis related offences In addition to cannabis regulation, Canada has decriminalised possession of all drugs and integrated medicines including cannabis and other psychedelics in hospitals and clinics.
