In this Lightroom Tutorial will be adding dark, gloomy tones to a forest landscape photo To follow along the Lightroom Tutorial, you can get the HDR raw file here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13QmT... ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Thank you for watching my video! ► http://www.the-phlog.com ► Patreon: / phlog ► Instagram: / thephlog ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 Intro For this photo I wanted to desaturate it a bit, adding some more fog and glow, while also giving everything a darker look. All the editing was done in Adobe Lightroom. As the scene has quite some dark shadows against bright highlights I merged an HDR image first to not have to worry about over or underexposure later. 0:25 1. Basic Adjustments I changed the profile to Adobe Standard for a flat image. Next, I adjusted the white balance for more blue-ish overall colors. I dropped the contrast, the highlights, the shadows, while increasing the whites and blacks. This reduced the overall contrast further and helps creating this “foggy” look. For that reason, I also brought down the dehaze. 3:45 2. Masking Using a linear gradient I made the foreground a lot darker, but I also added clarity and texture to get some more details as the scene gets closer to the camera if that makes sense. I used another linear gradient on the right side to make the area darker by dropping the exposure. For the glow / fog in the center I used several radial gradients and brought up the blacks / decreased the dehaze inside them. Finally, with the brush I selected the trees in the foreground to add more detail to them by raising the texture, exposure and the contrast. 9:06 3. Color Grading The green was just too much for my taste, so I brought down the green saturation a lot. Also, I increased the yellow and green luminance which not only makes those colors brighter but at the same time also lessens the saturation. For the split toning I used a cold color for the shadows and the mid-tones
