These are my Patent Leather Jimmy choos that I not only dyed black, but i gave them a protective rubber sole, and replaced the heel tips. I used the following products: 100% acetone nail polish remover, Angelus Direct Jet Black Leather Dye, Angelus Shoe Polish, Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint in the colors black and beige, Kaneiji shoe repair rubber soling sheet (1mm thickness), Petronio's Master All-Purpose Cement for shoes, Replacement heel tips from GreatBba on Amazon. I bought these shoes damaged and I thought they were only going to need leather dye. However there was extensive issues to the sole of the shoe and the heel tip so those had to be replaced as well. These are my own shoes and I had practiced these techniques on other shoes I got from goodwill for $5. This included learning how to use a Dremel and Hand Sander. I cleaned, deglazed and dyed the heels first. Then I measured, sanded down and then used the cobbler's glue on the bottom of the shoe. When you use the cobblers glue you have to put on 2 coats on both the new rubber sole and the leather of the shoe. You have to let each coat dry for at least 10 minutes. Then you have to heat it up. I used my hair drier, and while my husband held the show, I lined up the sole and was able to smooth out any bubbles. You can use a hammer for this part but if you're careful you can smooth everything out with your hands to secure the sole on the shoe. You can also use clamps if you want. Then I did the heel tip (which I will do another video on later because I missed that footage). After I cleaned up the rest of the sole, painted it beige and buffed out the patent leather with Angelus neutral shoe polish. The results were quite stunning and I am very happy with my Jimmy Choos.
