Two 2-8-0 Consolidations, #12 and #13, both products of the Spectrum Locomotive Works, are in charge of an extremely long freight extra over the Birch Mountain Narrow Gauge route. The locomotives power the train in tandem, with the 12 on the head end and the 13 mid train, from Ericsville to Camp #2 at the summit of Birch Mountain. The #13 then cuts out of the train so the #12 can continue downgrade solo to tie up at the Parkston Yard with its train.
