Air Tahiti VT733 • VT464 : Flying from Papeete to Bora Bora via Raiatea

5th June 2023 The first double feature on the channel! After a long layover, I was excited to travel to paradise, more famously known as Bora Bora. My first leg to Raiatea is aboard Air Tahiti on their 8 years old ATR 42-600, F-ORVC and my second leg to Bora Bora is on their 6 years old ATR 72-600, F-ORVU. I would've flown direct to Bora Bora but I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to fly on the ATR 42 because frankly, I don't know if I will ever get another chance. Once we checked in and got our breakfast, we relaxed in the departures area until the time to board was near. After passing through security screening, boarding commenced at Gate 53 and I was surprised to learn that we got to choose our own seats. I settled in Seat 3D with a great view of the engine. Soon after, we taxied to the runway and took off towards Raiatea. Some refreshments were served and I got an orange juice. It didn't take long before we landed at Raiatea and taxied towards Gate 1. The airport was very small and we collected our bag from the baggage collection area. Our next flight was a few hours away so we spent some time at the airport. Once it was time, we checked in again and witnessed the arrival of our plane from Papeete. Boarding commenced again and I settled in Seat 9A. There were other passengers onboard who came from Papeete. Very soon after, the plane taxied to the runway and took off towards Bora Bora. This was the shortest flight I've ever been on – an unbelievable 13 minutes! We landed at beautiful Bora Bora where we collected our bag and were welcomed by a representative from our accommodation, Le Bora Bora. This was already an epic start to a life-changing trip and I can't wait to show more :) Note: I apologise for the late upload of this video as I have been travelling a lot in the past couple of months, and haven't had the time to edit. I will try to bring back monthly uploads as fast as I can so I do appreciate your patience as these videos will slowly (but surely) release over the coming months.
