In this video I demonstrate the sounds of the well known Korg Poly 800 synthesizer. If you enjoy vintage synth reviews, you will enjoy this video. I talk briefly about the synth, then I do a demonstration of the sounds. All of the sounds you will hear are from the original factory preset tape. The Korg Poly 800 was the first real synthesizer that I ever owned, and I still use it to this day. It is certainly not a great synth, but it is lots of fun, and it was one of the first synths that the average musician could afford. This synth is famous for its soft ambient sounds, and an overall "spacey" quality that made it a great choice for pads, chords and general ambient music. I bought mine second hand in 1994 and it is still operating. Some people call the Korg Poly 800 a toy. I can sort of understand that description, but I do think it is not 100% accurate. If used correctly, the Poly 800 can create some amazing chords and bass sounds.
