If you’re an international teacher or career changer thinking about teaching in the UK, this video is for you. In this video, I explain all the UK teacher training routes available to international applicants, including PGCE, salaried teacher training, iQTS, Assessment-Only QTS, and Direct QTS. I also break down where funding is available beyond Physics and Modern Foreign Languages, including university scholarships, salaried routes, and realistic funding options for Primary education, SEND, English, Arts, Music, Physical Education, and other secondary subjects. Many people believe that only Physics and Languages come with funding. In this video, I explain what that really means, what support still exists for other subjects, and how international applicants can approach UK teacher training strategically. I also explain: • Which teacher training routes admit international applicants • How salaried teacher training works and visa sponsorship • PGCE tuition fees for international students • Why most funding outside Physics and Languages comes from universities • When international applicants should apply to allow time for checks and visa processing Applications for PGCE programmes are currently open, and international applicants are encouraged to apply early due to rolling admissions and visa timelines. In my next video, I’ll be breaking down all the documents you need for a PGCE application as an international applicant, including qualification checks, references, English language requirements, and interview expectations.
