The longer body, with the bridge closer to the center of the lower bout, delivers an open, airy tone with smoothness and warmth not typically found in modern, 14-fret dreadnoughts. Whether flatpicked or played fingerstyle, this guitar has lots of headroom and the wide dynamic range invites everything from mellow accompaniment to biting leads. The herringbone purfling and abalone diamonds & squares fretboard inlay are nods to the prewar era as well and together with the stained exotic ebony headstock veneer and ivoroid/tortoise rosette complete the stylish look of this 12 fret powerhouse. We're selling this instrument in consignment for a good friend of our store. It's a brand new model from 2023, and besides some extremely minor playing marks on the pick guard, this Collings might as well still be new!  This particular model sounds incredibly good and has been impeccably setup by the luthiers in our repair shop. Besides the buckets of aforementioned headroom, this DS is LOUD! Its tone can easily drown out a conversation, without being harsh or sharp to the ears.
