LIBYA: The Media is LYING! 🇱🇾

DON'T TRUST THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA! Travel to Libya in 2025 is safe and incredible! I absolutely loved the Libyan people, Libyan food and Libyan history and tourism in Libya should be on the rise. In this Libya Travel Vlog I take you along for my ENTIRE Libya trip where I visit: TRIPOLI CITY: The Libyan capital... There's SO much history in Tripoli for tourists. It was formerly known as "Tripolitania" for the three ancient Mediterranean coastal cities: Oea, Sabratha and Leptis Magna. In the city I visit: Tripoli Fish Market (and find many sharks!), Old Town Tripoli and the Marcus Aurelius Gate, the Red Castle an awesome Italian Coffee Shop, the Tripoli Souk Al-Mushir, a Church (??), an Old Turkish Prison, Jamal Abdul Nasser Mosque, Karamanli Mosque and Martry's Square SABRATHA: UNESCO World Heritage Roman Ruins (est. 500 BCE) lying on the Mediterranean Sea. It features beautifully kept structures like the Mausoleum of Bes, The Sabratha Amphitheater, Bathhouses with exquisite mosaics. The best part? I have this incredible site virtually to myself, save for two Libyan families who I have a great time chatting with! LEPTIS MAGNA: UNESCO World Heritage Roman Ruins once home to 100,000 ROMANS! Here I entered to a beautiful call to prayer while walking through the spectacular Tetrapylon Arch. WOW! I also saw main street, the market, bathhouses and the Roman Theater / Circus Maximum where the gladiators would duel to the death! NAFUSA MOUNTAINS: Here I learned about BERBER / AMAZIGH culture, tried local food, met some very lovely berber people and toured some epic ruins and Qasr's. What's a Qasr (Kasr)? It's an ancient grainary storage and most spectacular example of Berber architecture. "Qasr al Haj” was originally used to store the local produce such as olive oil and grains. Each family in the village would have a special designated place. The whole structure is usually circular and has a main entrance gate. It is these Kasr that make some people claim that Libyans were the first to invent the banking system. For example in Qasr Nalut families also stored valuables such as jewels and documents. In this Nafusa Mountains Vlog I meet with a man who's family has a room in the Gasr dating back thousands of years! The Qasrs were also used as resting and meeting points for the pilgrims in their way to the coastal cities and hence the name: Qasr al-H’aj (The Pilgrim’s Castle).
