I'm with the Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery in Lynnwood, Washington just north of Seattle and I'm answering questions related to tummy tuck procedure. One of the questions has to do with what I can expect as a recovery time from the procedure? This varies but from a short term perspective, I expect patients to be able to go home that day and to be able to walk and then come in and walk into the office the following day for their follow up. Now this will continue to improve over the following week to the point where full activities are going to be completely regained by a six to eight week time frame. I've had individuals take approximately about a week to two weeks off before going back to normal working routines. A lot of patients actually feel much better and feel like they want to go back much earlier and do things that we really don't recommend as they try to do too much because they're feeling so well. That's why we constantly want to see the individuals back. Usually weekly for the first month, just to make sure we're keeping a good eye on it and how much activity they're actually doing to insure an ideal outcome for themselves.
