Aggressive Interior Fire Attack & Vertical Ventilation • Poplar & Sutter, Stockton CA

On Sunday May 15th, 2022, Stockton Firefighters responded to reports of a fire between two structures in the area of East Poplar and North Sutter. Engine 2 was backing into quarters when they received the pre-alert. They arrived first-due seconds ahead of Engine 9. Crews on scene had to overcome fire in two structures, lines down, and potential victims. Command struck a 2nd alarm, delegating units to each address upon arrival. Stockton Firefighters worked diligently in order to aggressively and immediately extinguish the blaze. The first of two video captures in this edit is from first-due Engine 2 Captain assisting his Probationary Firefighter in Fire Attack on Division One; the second is from Truck 2 as Vent Group heads to the roof to perform Vertical Ventilation. The fire was extinguished approximately 20 minutes after the initial 9-1-1 caller reported the fire. Crews remained on scene for more than an hour conducting overhaul and an investigation.
