3-month-old baby Sarthak Raj, weighing 4.2 kg, was admitted at Yashoda with complaints of bluishness and breathlessness. Our comprehensive team of doctors comprising of Dr. Ashish Prakash (HOD, Neonatology & Pediatrics), Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon Dr. Yatin Arora (Consultant, CTVS), Neonatologist Dr. (Maj.) Sachin Kumar Dubey (Senior Consultant, Neonatology & Pediatrics) and Intensivist Dr. Karan Raheja (Senior Consultant & Pediatric Intensivist) examined the baby thoroughly. Diagnosed with congenital heart disease, the baby’s echocardiography revealed a hole in the heart as well as dislocation of the veins of the left lung towards the right. Given the patient’s age, it was a very complicated surgery. However, with the expertise of our doctors, the baby was successfully operated upon via open-heart surgery. Shifted back to the PICU after 2 days, the baby is responding well to milk. With tears in their eyes and little hope for their baby, what more could have the parents wished for.
