On May 15, 2025, around 2 p.m., officers with the Atlanta Police Department’s A.C.E. unit were patrolling the Martin Luther King Jr. Corridor, searching for a wanted suspect known to frequently occupy the area. During the canvass, officers observed a white Chevy Malibu being driven by the suspect along the 3000 block of MLK Jr. Drive. The suspect identified as Sanchez Turner, wanted for fleeing and eluding police and theft by receiving, was confirmed as the driver of the vehicle upon observation. Units conducted a felony traffic stop on the vehicle, giving loud verbal commands for the driver and occupants to exit the vehicle with their hands up. Officers detained Sanchez Turner along with two male passengers: Jaiden Jackson, a convicted felon with 10 arrest cycles, and a 15-year-old juvenile with no prior arrests. Upon searching the vehicle following the lawful arrests, officers recovered two firearms, which appeared to be within the reach of Mr. Jackson. During the investigation, Jackson, who is a convicted felon, provided a false name to officers. He was charged with false representation and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Turner was arrested for his outstanding warrants. Both men were transported to the Fulton County Jail, while the juvenile was released to his parents.
