I have been obsessed with trying to get the freshest coffee possible and the only way possible is to roast my own coffee beans. I have started roasting my own coffee beans since 2017 and it all started with a toaster oven. I think this setup I have right now is the best I can get. I have watched a lot of Sweet Maria's coffee roasting videos on their channel and one of their video series featured the Larry Cotton's flour sifter designs and I see a lot of folks on YouTube successfully building their own flour sifter coffee roaster and I decided I had enough of toaster "baked" beans and went out to build my own roaster. This is the default way I roast my beans now. From experience, different beans will roast at different times and I prefer my beans roasted to City Plus or higher. I like my coffee dark with a roastier taste rather than a fruity acidic tastes. I recently discovered Liberica beans grown in Johor Malaysia and these beans are super unique have a cross flavor between arabica and robusta and it blends well with other Arabicas.
