In Spring 2021, two particle physics experiments on opposite sides of the Atlantic saw evidence of what could be a brand new fundamental force of nature. The LHCb experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider spotted beauty quarks decaying in ways that contradict our best theory of particle physics, the Standard Model, while the Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab found that muons were more magnetic than they ought to be.
