Still being a relatively new pattern, The Cdc Bug has proven to be one of the most versatile patterns I have ever come up with! Tied in the smaller sizes as shown here to achieve a killer stonefly, crayfish, or baitfish/ juvenile trout pattern, or upsize it to a #1/0 (...tutorial en route) for an inverting "Ned Rig" type bass fly! Materials- Hook/ Weight: #10(I think) + 4mm Slotted Tungsten Bead(...I think) Thread: Fl. Orange (sized as needed) Super Glue Cdc Blend(MY MOST CURRENT RECIPE): —4 pts Brown Olive Cdc fibers(Fulling Mill Cdc dubbing or stripped straight from the feathers) —2 pts Cinnamon UV Microflash Dubbing(Fulling Mill) —1 pt Cinnamon Cdc fibers(Fulling Mill Cdc dubbing or stripped straight from the feathers) —Chopped up dark blue Angel Hair(Larva Lace)-just a pinch ***Alternative Blend(less buoyant option or added to the Cdc dubbing [1:1] as 'filler' to avoid burning through so much precious cdc): —2 pts Rabbit(preferably pulled off zonker strip) in a combination of; Olive, Brown, and Crayfish Orange —1 pt Cinnamon UV Microflash Dubbing(Fulling Mill) —Chopped up dark blue Angel Hair(Larva Lace)-just a pinch Subscribe to my newly revived page for loads of upcoming content: / @smallbatchbugs Follow me on Instagram: / erikclymore Visit my website to view my available flies or contact me for custom orders: https://smallbatchbugs.com #flyfishing #flytying #flytyingtutoria You can find all the gear and materials listed and many MANY more of my favorites over at The World Wide Web.
