Since my youth, I have longed for and prayed for the reunification of our country, and so I wanted to write a song for the spiritual restoration of Pyongyang, North Korea. Perhaps that's why, even though it's been several years since I wrote it, the tears I shed at that moment still resonate with me. Pyongyang holds an undeniably important place in the history of the Presbyterian Church in Korea. In particular, the Pyongyang Great Spiritual Awakening, which began as a repentance movement in 1907, spread nationwide and became a significant indicator that characterizes the Korean church. I hope that Christians who listen to this song will fervently pray for the reunification of our people. It would be wonderful if we ourselves could become the Jerusalem of the East, shining the love and light of Jesus on this earth.
