"I wouldn't be so confident, sir," Crafty Joker adjusts his glasses, looking up at the Boss Blind, "this blind may get the better of you. Perhaps, letting me help out could-" he is cut off. "I'm not going to play a flush! Something must be wrong with you..." he spoke the second sentence under his breath. He stands and turns to Crafty Joker, thinking more and more about what he said and how ridiculous the idea is, "Have you even been paying attention? How many times have the stars aligned toward Pluto so far? By my count at least 10! And can you tell me how many times toward Jupiter? None! Do you think this is a game? This is our lives, the stakes can't be higher! One flush and we'd be floating down the river!" Showman throws his lucky ace toward the boss, the papers floating up and retriggering the card. The Showman looks back at the boss and Crafty Joker, a look of defeat on his face as his hundreds of dollars turns to zero. Craft Joker laughs, "And you thought you would become the Balatro of this realm!" Showman had nothing to say. No commentary, nothing. Just the feeling of defeat and frustration in his chest.
