In this video I show how to install the steering wheel spacer for the OEM steering wheel, on a BMW 1 Series E88 Convertible. The procedure is valid for any 1 series E8x chassis, and 3 series E9x chassis, and any BMW of those years that share the same type of steering wheel. It's not important if the steering wheel is M-Performance or a basic version, with or without the paddleshifters, because it only change the number of wires or connectors inside the steering wheel itself. Another important detail is the steering angle sensor recalibration: we did installations on cars which did not need it at the end of the installation process, while other cars needed the recalibration. For some cars, the recalibration could be quickly done by turning the steering wheel all the way left and all the way right, while other cars required INPA, NCSexpert and BMW diagnosis tools. We can't establish a rule: it seem to us that the younger is the car, the easier is you need recalibration. By the way, it's quite quick and simple with the proper tool.
