Jervis Bay's Extraordinary Wildlife & Three Historic Lighthouses, South Coast, New South Wales

Jervis Bay is a 102-square-kilometre (39 sq mi) oceanic bay and village in the Jervis Bay Territory and on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia. A 70-square-kilometre (27 sq mi) area of land around the southern headland of the bay, known as the Jervis Bay Territory, is not a part of the Australian Capital Territory (though some services are shared). The Territory includes the settlements of Jervis Bay Village and Wreck Bay Village. The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) base, HMAS Creswell, is in the Jervis Bay Territory between Jervis Bay Village and Greenpatch Point. No coastline is ever complete without historic lighthouses, Jervis Bay is home to a couple of beauties. These iconic structures usually come with some spectacular views, which makes sense given their purpose and early use, The lantern now at the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum sits in a replica of the lighthouse which is at Crookhaven Heads, now decommissioned. Inside the Booderee National Park lies a unique Lighthouse ruin – Cape St George Lighthouse, a lighthouse which was built in the wrong place and consequently did not prevent Shipwrecks leading to many. Point Perpendicular is a point at the southern tip of the Beecroft Peninsula and at the northern entry to Jervis Bay, in New South Wales, Australia. It is the location of Point Perpendicular Light, a historic lighthouse which was active from 1889 to 1993, and a replacement skeletal tower which is active. ..
