A one off challenge run that I just kinda felt like doing (Slightly incentivized by the Etrian Odyssey discord server and my desire to give portrait editing a shot.) Despite doing this in a 100% completed save file with the level cap raised to 99 and everything unlocked I limited myself to only things someone would be able to get in the fifth stratum, so this is a level 70 rover retired at level 70 with S5 gear. The portrait I used for the rover is Swon from the Summon Night series, it's not the best fit but he meshes with the EO art style pretty well, I mostly just chose him because he's such a powerful ranged unit in that game, and the game itself is about summoning so a summoner class fits him well. As for strategy, there isn't much to talk about, the three most deadly attacks are burning miasma, thunder howl and panic crush. The latter is pure RNG how much it ends up screwing you, the former is predictable, survivable at higher health values, and has a lot of counterplay between head bind, sleep, and just plain tanking it with the help of a preemptive fire mist, I had to gamble on it a lot and only got burned once which I'd consider a win, and then the middler is just pure paranoia, you don't know when it's going to show up, but it will, and it will wreck you, it only starts becoming an issue when ET drops below 50% health so once that happens I just prayed head binds lasted long, and then used volt mists to hopefully stop a random one turn kill (happened to me a few times in previous attempts). For damage, sky dive synced up with ET's grudge miasma cycles and million arrows whenever I either had nothing better to do or just felt like gambling to make the fight go faster, I was playing a lot more careful in the failed attempts but at some point I kinda just felt done and started pushing to end the fight quicker by any means necessary. Here's a fun nugget of wisdom though, I made the decision to not use sky dive on the first turn of the fight as it wouldn't sync up great with the grudge miasma cycle, instead I used it just as grudge miasma went off, so the hawk would land right as ET inhaled the miasma, thus head binding him to stop burning miasma, furthermore, when time came for the next burning miasma enough time would have passed as to wipe off the temporary resistance to head bind, giving me a better chance of landing it again.
