Scenes from Prince of Wales' Royal Tour of South Africa, 1925 - reel 10. Crowds in western and traditional African dress milling around; high shot of Prince Edward, the Prince of Wales greeting men. CU musicians playing zither-type instruments, policeman keeping the crowd in order, and more traditional musicians, including what look like horns made from elephant tusks, and a rough approximation of a violin. Condescending intertitles point out the exotic nature of the people. Good CU faces of tribal chiefs in elaborate garb with crowns on. MS Prince and party sit down in wicker chairs to see afternoon's entertainment, which include a man swinging from trees. Very good CUs of the young Prince, snake charmers, and women dancers. CU children in makeup and cloth hats, then dancing for the Prince. The scene changes to a town or city street, to the front of Bungie's Funeral Home storefront with British flag flying. Good CU signs 'Sympathetic Undertaker & Contractor - Builder for the Living and the Dead' as well as 'Live like a Fool and Die like a Big Fool. Eat and Drink Good Stuff'. CU Mr Bungie, a dignified older African man. Large groups of school children, some with Union Jacks, send the Prince off. The Prince's barge sails across the water, and he boards HMS Repulse, saluted by officers on deck. Note: several sections of film show signs of decomposition., .
