Cascade barely remembered a time when she felt loved by her parents, because as soon as her little sister was born, everything changed all of the sudden. It was like she never existed in the first place One day, Cas had accidentally hurt Phyre while they were playing. While Phyre did not think of it as a big deal, their parents sure did. When Phyre tried to reassure Cas she was fine, joking about needing a new hairstyle/cut anyways, their parents dragged Phyre away, not wanting Cas any closer to their youngest child in case she hurt her again. Cas was once again left alone feeling guilty and unloved, always feeling like she just ruins everything Nate, who had been patient and kind to her throughout all of their encounters, had finally cracked the walls she built around herself, and allowed her to open up to him. Cas expected him to push her away, having that being the only thing she ever knew growing up, but he instead comforted her, believing it’s at least a step to improvement. Cas’ past is not, and will never be an excuse for what she did, and the guilt of it all still haunts her This song choice is super duper special to me because it’s Cas’ voice claim, but also Tangled: the series has been one of my favourite childhood shows. It’s been a dream of mine to be able to animate lots and lots of their songs because I loved it all so much!! Also, I’m just very attached to Cassandra as a character,, I originally wanted to use the original song but at the time, I didn’t have much ideas for it. I just liked the song lol. But the reprise fits so much better!!
