The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award 2023 is open for entries until midnight BST on 31 July 2023. Find out more at foyleyoungpoets.org One of this year's judges, poets Jane Yeh, shares three of her best tips for young people writing poems. The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is one of the biggest competitions in the world for young people aged 11-17. It is free to enter, and is open to young writers anywhere in the world. You can enter as many poems as you like, and poems can be any length and on any theme. Winners receive a range of fantastic prizes, including sustained mentoring from The Poetry Society.
