I'll Remember April - Don Raye, Gene de Paul, and Patricia Johnson

#med (Music.Every.Day) Day 232 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--posting a video of piano music every single day! Today's video is "I'll Remember April". The words and music were written by Don Raye, Gene de Paul, and Patricia Johnson. This piece is from the collection: "Unforgettable..The Lighter Side of Jazz". This beautiful jazz ballade was quick to learn. But the "simpler" ones are often the hardest to record!! Every note is important in these kinds of arrangements. It has an upbeat middle section that gives a nice contrast to the melodic ballade in the opening and closing section. I really love the chords that got used in this piece--the arrangement is a really nice one. There are lots of opportunities for expressiveness, and some challenges with chords and rhythm (like usual!) Tune in tomorrow for more of my #music.every.day experiment!
