Time to make some knit I-cord! An I-cord is a small knitted tube that looks like a chunky bit of string. You can use an I-cord whenever you need to add some sort of tie to your projects like a drawstring for hats, a connector for mittens, and so on! Knitting an I-cord is a simple skill that you can learn even if it’s your first time picking up knitting needles. While you’re technically knitting an I-cord in the round, since it’s so small (only four stitches needed!) you only really need a pair of DPN needles. For this tutorial, we recommend you use two double pointed needles (DPNs), but you can also use circular needles if you don’t have those.
