It is the art form which perhaps best exemplifies the melting pot that is American culture. And Jazz in turn delivered many new genres, including Rock and roll, Funk, reggae, R&B, and hip hop. Among the many, many legendary jazz musicians, 3 women stand out. Their lives and struggles paint a vivid picture of what it is like to be a woman in show business and a black person in America.
