Merida Reacto: First Look We recently attended the launch event of the brand new Reacto in Spain to take our first proper look at the new features. Check this video to find out all about it. CF3 & CF5 Frames The Reacto has always been about speed, and that hasn’t changed. Across the entire range, you get Merida’s aero-optimised frame design. It keeps the traditional Reacto silhouette and signature tube profiles that riders love, but every surface has been refined using advanced extensive wind tunnel testing. The goal? To make the fastest bike possible. Every tube shape, edge and join has been analysed to reduce drag while maintaining stiffness and ride quality. This isn’t just aero for the pros — it’s aero for everyone. V Design One of the biggest visual updates comes in what Merida calls the V Design. By reshaping The wheel arches and the junction where the seat stays meet the seat tube Merida has improved airflow significantly. These areas are critical when it comes to airflow, especially around the rear wheel where turbulence can really build up. But it’s not just about aero gains. These updates also allow for increased tyre clearance, making the Reacto more adaptable than ever before. Additional Tyre Clearance Versatility is a huge part of the new Reacto. Tyre clearance has been increased to allow tyres up to 32mm. That’s a serious upgrade for an aero road bike. The chainstays have been carefully reshaped to accommodate this extra clearance without compromising stiffness or responsiveness. So whether you’re racing, riding rough UK roads, or heading out for a long endurance spin, the new Reacto is ready for it. Additional Tyre Clearance Versatility is a huge part of the new Reacto. Di2 Battery Relocation Another clever update is the relocation of the Di2 battery. On the new Reacto, it now sits underneath the bottom bracket. This makes it easier to access for maintenance and charging, while contributing to overall weight savings. It also allows for a cleaner, lower-drag seat post design, reinforcing that every detail on this bike is about performance. New Cockpit Brand new to the Reacto range is the one-piece Team CW 1P cockpit. Available on selected CF5 models, this integrated bar and stem setup features a distinctive seagull wing design and a narrower overall width. That narrower profile naturally encourages riders into a more aerodynamic position. It’s stiff, clean, fully integrated for cable routing, and designed to maximise control while minimising drag. Reacto Range The new Reacto line-up caters to a wide range of riders, from those wanting full carbon World Tour-level race builds to more accessible models that still deliver the same high-performance aero frame. Across the range, you’ll find both Carbon CF5 and CF3 frame options, paired with either Shimano and SRAM electronic groupsets, deep-section aero wheelsets, and race-ready geometry throughout. There’s also an entry-level Reacto 4000 featuring a two-piece cockpit that saves 215 watts. No matter which model you choose, you benefit from the same aerodynamic philosophy and race-bred DNA that defines the entire Reacto family. Whether you’re lining up at your next road race, chasing PBs, or simply want a bike that feels incredibly quick every time you ride, the new Reacto delivers.
