Today we cooked authentic Hyderabadi chicken biryani at the farm, using firewood and embers. The chicken was marinated at home, rice carried along, and everything came together outdoors over wood fire and coal dum. If you enjoy farm life, firewood cooking, and slow food, I hope you find this relaxing. 🧺 INGREDIENTS USED: Chicken Marination • Chicken – 1.2 kg (bone-in) • Thick curd – 250 g • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp • Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1.5 tbsp • Green chilli paste – 1 tsp • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp • Cumin powder – 1½ tsp • Garam masala – 1 tsp • Black pepper – ½ tsp • Lemon juice – 1½ tbsp • Fried onions (birista) – ¾ cup • Fresh mint leaves – ¾ cup • Fresh coriander leaves – ½ cup • Salt – to taste • Oil – 2½ tbsp • Ghee – 2 tbsp Rice • Basmati rice – 1.6 kg • Water – plenty for boiling • Salt – for rice water Whole spices for rice • Bay leaf – 2 • Green cardamom – 4 • Black cardamom – 1 • Cloves – 6 • Cinnamon – 1 stick • Shahi jeera – 1½ tsp For Layering & Dum • Ghee – 2–3 tbsp • Potatoes • Mint & coriander – extra • Optional: saffron soaked in warm milk • Optional: rose water / kewra water COOKING METHOD • Firewood used for main cooking • Coal and embers used for dum • Sealed pot with foil cooked slowly until done 🌿 Thanks for watching If you enjoyed this, feel free to like, share, or subscribe for more farm cooking and slow food. #FarmCooking #ChickenBiryani #FirewoodCooking #SlowFood #FarmLife #ASMRCooking #OutdoorCooking #villagecooking
