It’s been a little while since I’ve dropped an implant. I’m feeling the need to cut something hahaha Anyone else feeling the need to drill? At least I can get on with posting up some new tips, so here it is: Ninja Tip: I get a lot of requests asking for help with this type of bone. See how the mandibular ridge here is very skinny towards the top? That is a very common scenario! If it's just skinny on the top of the ridge and it quickly gets much wider below that, you can simply level the skinny portion of the bone off. You can do this in 2 ways: Make a flap and use a large round bur to reduce the bone in the general area OR… Use a small round pilot drill to make your purchase point for the implant preparation In this case I used a small round bur. It is a little bit less invasive and it is relatively quick and easy. I used this instead of my traditional lance pilot drill and I even sank it a bit deeper than usual. NOTE: the CBCT is not of the surgery you see here. For the patient in the video, I had to use a 8mm implant due to close proximity to the IA nerve canal. That’s why you see me switch from the initial Neodent surgical kit. I just happened to have run out of 8mm length neodent implants LOL It happens to all of us! The important part is to be flexible with the changes! See all of our educational resources at: https://implantninja.com/ Here's our online course platform: https://school.implantninja.com/
