Harrison Wallace and Serena Mohanty explain the benefits of selfish motivation and how it may be key in making any service flourish. Drawing from personal experiences with their own charity, Meet Medical, they're able to express how their passion for medicine led to an increased access to hygiene and healthcare supplies in rural Vietnam. Their inspiring message is aimed to those of all ages and reminds us that as long as we have passion, we have the power to make a difference. Harrison Wallace is a tenth grade student currently finishing his fourth year at UNIS Hanoi. Before coming to Vietnam, he also lived in Bangladesh, Ghana and the United Kingdom. He decided to create a TED Talk in order to share the knowledge and experience he's gained after creating his own club, Meet Medical, alongside Serena Mohanty. Serena Mohanty is a tenth grade student who co-founded Meet Medical, a service group which aims to provide first aid kits and hygiene supplies to local schools. Her passion in medicine as well as the rewards of service drives her to fulfill this group's objectives. Living in South East Asia for most of her life, she has had the opportunity to see firsthand the reality of those who are less fortunate. This has inspired her to take action by helping others learn the importance of hygiene as well as showing first aid responses. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
