Back in April, OnePlus released its most feature-packed phone yet in the OnePlus 8, which many think is the best all-around Android device so far here in 2020. However, today just 5 months later, the company announced the new OnePlus 8T, which add in several improvements and features that may just make this the Android phone to buy this holiday season. The OnePlus 8T sports a 120Hz display, which the company refers to as its Fluid AMOLED Display. The benefit here is that you get buttery-smooth scrolling, animations, and transitions. That’s paired with a super-low latency touch panel, which makes swiping feel more responsive as well. Gamers in particular will really enjoy the benefits of the Fluid Display, as the reduced latency and 120 frames per second experience allows for even more responsiveness. The OnePlus 8T supports 65 watt charging, which is basically 13-inch MacBook Pro charging speeds. OnePlus says that thanks to their twin-battery charging technology, you can fully charge the OnePlus 8T’s 4500 milliamp hour battery in just 39 minutes if you plug it in and keep the screen off. The 65 watt charger itself has 12 thermal monitors built in to make sure temperatures remain at a safe level, and can ramp things down if necessary. The OnePlus 8T features a Quad Camera system, comprised of a wide angle lens, an ultra wide angle lens, a macro lens, and a monochrome lens. Now to be fair, it’s pretty hard to find a bad camera experience on a modern flagship smartphone these days that isn’t named the Surface Duo, but what OnePlus is highlighting here are a few things. First, the Nightscape Mode is enhanced. Nightscape is the low-light photography mode here, and it will algorithmically auto-adjust your shots to get cleaner details and more vivid color in low light conditions by capturing multiple photos at varying exposures when you tap the shutter button.
