Starlight Glimmer is one of the if not THE most controversial character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She definitely invoked some strong emotions in her early years on the show. As for me, she is my favorite fictional character in all of media! Not only do I love her character development, but I relate to her immensely, which is why some of the critiques against her bother me. As the show went on, fans liked her a lot more than when she first joined the case, but still, even after the show ended, she left a bad impression on some other fans. Fun fact! MLP: FiM aired for 9 seasons and Starlight was present for 5 of them, meaning not only was she a big contributor of the show's story, but her presence marked a new era of the show (the show can be divided into two eras: Before Starlight and After Starlight given that she was introduced halfway through the show's run).
