The Glossy Black Conservancy, with support from WIRES, is updating critical habitat mapping for the Glossy Black-Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami lathami) in the Southeast Queensland bioregion. This webinar, designed specifically for local governments and council representatives explores how the updated mapping: 🔹 Impacts local planning schemes and development assessments 🔹 supports on-ground conservation programs (e.g. with Healthy Land & Water) 🔹 integrates with existing local data and initiatives Join lead ecologist Liz Gould and spatial ecologist Shannon Mooney as they demonstrate how habitat availability has changed in the last 10 years, and how this evidence-based mapping can help councils make informed decisions to better protect Glossy Black-Cockatoo habitat while also supporting sustainable growth in SEQ.
