It's a special thing when Jul releases a project. They happen on his own time, and we can only stop and stare in awe. It is a privilege to host his art. A surprise project from JUL premiered at JOD7; "Thirty Eight" has all of the ingenuity, effortless creativity, and humble athleticism that we have come to expect from Jul. For anybody who doesn't know Jul, he is a Vancouver native born partly out of Origins Parkour. He's a brilliant visual artist as well as a free spirit who is known for doing moves that don't have a name and interpreting spots in a completely unique way. Lots of his movement is based in improvisation and feeling, but with a deeply skilled technical background.
